Brehm, Roberta Ann (Marriage - 8 June 1951)

Miss Roberta Ann Brehm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Brehm of Colby, and Walter J. Schneider, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schneider, Sr., of Colby, exchanged marriage vows at St. Mary’s church Saturday morning, June 8, Rev. Raymond Schultz officiating. Mrs. Amos Foster, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Sally Schneider, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Amos Foster of Marshfield and Robert Ebert of Wausau.

The bride, who was escorted down the aisle by her father, chose for her wedding gown white organza over satin, chantilly lace bodice and peplum, long sleeves tapering at the wrist, and full length train. Her fingertip veil of imported silk illusion was secured to her bonnet of Chantilly lace edged with pearl orange blossom clusters. Her bouquet consisted of red and white roses and she carried a prayer book.

The matron of honor wore a white embossed organdy dress over green taffeta slip, small lapels trimmed with Irish lace, brief cape and sleeves trimmed with lace. Her hat matched the color of her slip and her gloves were white. Her bouquet consisted of white roses. The bride’s mother wore a grey figured dress with a white carnation corsage and the groom’s mother wore a gray and blue print dress with a corsage of carnations.

A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the groom’s parents for the wedding party. A one o’clock dinner was served to 100 guests at the home of the bride’s parents and a cafeteria luncheon at 6:00 o’clock. The home was decorated with yellow and green streamers and white bells. Out of town guests were from Chicago, Wausau, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Chippewa Falls, Withee, Marshfield, and Belton, Texas.

Both the bride and the groom are graduates of Colby, Wisconsin High School. The groom is employed by the Public Service Commission at Wausau and the bride is employed by the Employers’ Mutual at Wausau. The couple will make their home at 603 Grant Street, Wausau.
